I am a Rent fan (i guess they call us rent-heads). Remember this post from waaaaay back? I mean waaaaaaaay back, near when this blog started.
MY FAV MUSICAL OF ALL TIME, RENT TOURS THROUGH OHIO
Thanks, LaLa Tamago, for taking one of my most favorite impromptu road trips ever.
Aaaaaah! I could watch that musical over and over and over and over and over again. I know all of the songs. I have all kinds of souvenir paraphernalia. I am so glad that I caught it in NYC when it was running on Broadway, too, a few years back.
But now…it’s really over…
So here’s my tribute to a musical that typifies our generation.
What’s your favorite scene? What’s your favorite song?
Did you think the movie was as good as the theater production?
Here are some links to articles as well…

This is an re-enactment of one of my fav songs “Light My Candle” (although I have so many favs on that soundtrack) from somebody’s school project, but it’s pretty good.

you wanna know wuts really sad? I never got to see it on stage! I don’t know if it ever played in LA and if it did I was too young to have known about it and gone to see it. So now, who knows if I’ll ever get to see a stage production of it =(.

@CutSleeveBoy- that IS sad! You should’ve asked your parents for a trip to NYC instead of bliss camp (lol). I’m sure it’ll make a revival in your lifetime (I sound so old) like everything else of greatness (and not so greatness) does.

I Abso-effin-lutely love Rent. I heart the love stories: Roger and Mimi, Roger and his music, Mark and his film, Angel and Tom, Benny and money/order, Maureen and herself, Joanne/Mark and Maureen. The play has passion, desire, death, understanding, peace, war, rebellion, humor, and freedom. It is very hard for me to pick a favorite character as they all bring a cohesion and uniqueness, but if I had to pick it would be Roger played by Adam Pascal in the film version. When he sung One Song, Glory ooo and I Should tell you I melted! My favorite couple is Angel and Tom and this is a must watch/see/listen.
The show must go on …. tear drop
