This week, I’m bringing you some classic Philly soul music. The Stylistics brought us songs like “You Make Me Feel Brand New,” “Betcha By Golly Wow,” and this week’s Throwback Friday feature “People Make The World Go Round.” It’s a song I fell in love with all over again when Spike Lee used the Marc Dorsey version in “Crooklyn” (that soundtrack is a must have, by the way). The song, from their 1971 self title debut album, had a political edge speaking of the conditions of the time from Wall Street to labor unions.
Enjoy!
