Remember that eensie weensie stretch when rap was simply fun? No virtually naked girls and glorified thug life. DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince and Biz Markie are the first two groups/artists that come to mind. Album after album, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince really hit home with us young folks with classic anthems that are still relevant today. One of my all time favorites is “Parents Just Don’t Understand” released in back 1988. Oh the clichés in that video were things I heard at home like, “You go to school to learn not for a fashion show.” Who rocked Zips back in the day? LOL!
Given that it’s back to school time, I thought it would be perfect to make this week’s Throwback Friday “Parents Just Don’t Understand” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince.
Ding-a-ling-a-ling! Wake Up! Back to school! 🙄
Bonus!!!
I found an old commercial for Zips tennis shoes from back in the day. You gotta watch this! Whoever discovered velcro was a great alternative to shoelaces was a genius.
