Daniel “Diggy” Simmons is definitely carrying on the Simmons legacy. With a raps that are contagious enough to land over 100,000 downloads of his “The First Flight” mixtape just through from own blog Life of The Jet Setter, a recently announced record deal with Atlantic Records, and a new men’s shoe line called Chivalrous Culture scheduled to debut in August 2010, this 15 year old is a millionaire mogul in the making and possessing the online media savvy to make it happen.
Destined to be a star, Diggy Simmons, releases “Star Is Born” Freestyle. Talk about FIRE; NO, Really, This sh*t is HOT! Upon dropping his first mix-tape in December with the lead single, “Point to Prove,” followed by another single, “Set Me Free,” Diggy Simmons is holding his own. Getting coverage throughout the internet, the demand to speak to the 14 year old Simmons, is insane. Humble and appreciative for all of the love and devotion his fans have graced him with, yet still feeling he is not taken serious by a few other, he decided to release, “Star is Born.”
The single “Set Me Free” produced by Snake Eyes has Diggy rhyming over an old school RnB track (I tried to research if it was sampled and by what artist. Let me know if you know) bringing a fresh blend of old meet news. I have to remind myself that Diggy is only 14 years old. As with some of his singles on “The First Flight” mixtape, “Set Me Free” Diggy is letting us know that he’s making his own way in the world despite being born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
At 15 years young Diggy Simmons is already carrying on the family legacy and talent when it comes to hip hop and fashion. On December 2, 2009, Diggy released his mixtape “The First Flight.” While this is a debut album, as I listen to it (listening now for the first time), Diggy sounds like no newcomer to the game. It’s well produced and Diggy has a well honed rap flow. His rhymes are over tracks infused with taste of jazz and RnB. I’m glad Diggy didn’t try to thug it out because that would not been believable for a kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth…or as his debut single says a “Point to Prove.”
Diggy Simmons: Diggy feels people always think he has it easy so a rap career should be a piece of cake, but he’s attempting to show his own color. Aside from the much talked about clothing line, Space Cadet, Diggy is dropping his first mix-tape, “The First Flight.”
