VH1 launches first original movie and scripted series “Single Ladies”

Gasp! Shock! Awe! VH1 has a brand new series coming out and it’s NOT a reality show!..VH1 will be launching a new scripted series called “Single Ladies.” On Monday, May 30, 2011 at 9:00 PM ET, VH1 will kick things off with their first original two-hour movie “Single Ladies,” and then the following Monday (June 6, 2011) at 9:00 PM ET, the 10-episode, hour long weekly series begins!

BET Awards 2010 to honor Prince with Lifetime Achievement Award

At a press conference held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in New York, BET announced the host of the BET Awards show this year, nominees in each category, planned performances for the night, and more. Queen Latifah, who is starring alongside my secret boyfriend Common (really, it’s no secret, it’s the only celeb that i completely crush on…anyway, i digress) in the movie “Just Wright,” has been selected to host this year’s awards show that airs on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 8:00 PM EST. Each year, the BET Awards honors the best in music, entertainment, and sports.

70s classic “Good Times” to be a movie. Cast includes Queen Latifah, Beyonce, Dave Chappelle and more!

That’s right y’all!!! JJ, Thelma, James, Florida, and the rest of the cast from the 70s classic TV show will be back, but this time on the silver screen! The cast to include Dave Chapelle as “JJ,” Loretta Divine as “Florida,” Delro Lindo as “James,” Beyonce as “Thelma,” Queen Latifah as “Willona.” Production is currently slated for Fall 2010 and filmmaker Maurice Jamal has been named as the director.
