Wu Tang: Return of the Wu and Friends (mp3 download and video)

Since their debut album, 1993’s Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Wu-Tang has become synonymous with gritty, direct lyrics and beats that draw from classic soul, horn-blasted funk, cinematic curios, and dirty guitar licks (among many others.) With each successive album, the group solidifies their hold on hip-hop, watching over the years as rappers, trends and ephemeral styles come and go and become musical footnotes in the game.

EXCLUSIVE- Ghostface kills it in concert. Camera man ass in face. Personal journal, photos, video.

Just a few weeks after Raekwon’s “Only Built For Cuban Linx II” album release, I was back in NYC for Ghostface Killah’s “Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City” album release…It takes me back to Teamsters Union party days back in undergrad at Morgan State University when emerging artists at the time like Wu-Tang would test out their skills on the black college crowd.

EVENT RECAP- 9/30/2009 Ghostface Killah in concert at Hiro Ballroom in NYC.

No, this wasn’t a fancy album release party with a red carpet and full of fancy celebrities. This was for the fans. The people who listen to, buy, and support Ghostface Killah’s music. I respect him for doing such a show at the time of his album release for “Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City.”

EXCLUSIVE- Personal photos, video, journal from Raekwon’s album release

I’m going back through photos and video tonight that I took at Raekwon’s album release party back on September 8, 2009 in NYC…Rather than leave them unused, I thought I’d create this journal style post and share them with you.
