As a follow on to Portishead‘s October 5, 2011 performance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,’ they are releasing their single ‘Chase the Tear’ on a 12″ vinyl limited edition. Lucky fans who made stopped by XL Recording‘s stall at the Independent Label Market in Brooklyn this past Saturday, October 8 were able to purchase one of the signed 200 copies that were made available for the day. The rest of us will have to wait until November 14, 2011 for the worldwide release. The limited edition 12″ vinyl comes backed with a version of the track by Toronto’s Doldrums. Additionally, The vinyl will come with a download code to download the mp3 version and will also be available to buy at Portishead live shows.
All proceeds from the release will go to Amnesty International.
