Tyler Perry’s mother, Willie Maxine Perry, dies at age 64
Tyler Perry often talks about how the women in his life have influenced his work. I’m sad to read that his mother, Willie Maxine Perry, passed away today December 8, 2009. RIP.

12/26/2009- A few months ago, I said I was taking off the rest of 2009. The reason for that, although I didn’t say it at the time, was so I could spend my mother’s final days at her side. I am so glad I did. It made all the difference in the world to me. Thank you for all of your condolences. As you know, my mother was the apple of my eye, so this has been difficult to say the least. I’ll say more about her as I am able. It’s just too soon to talk publicly about it. It is still very raw. All I’ll say is this, take care of your mothers…you only get one. I’ve got to stop talking about this, sorry…
1/12/2010- …I am really enjoying this show. I’m so glad to be on the road in front of the people again. I didn’t know how much I missed this and I really didn’t know how much I needed it. This is so great! I don’t know of a better way to grieve than to write a show and dedicate it to my mother…
