Honoring Vivica A. Fox, Hill Harper, Malinda Williams, Pat Harris, Shanti Das, and Maria Davis for their proven commitment to the empowerment of women worldwide.

WHO:

The Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network; www.weenonline.org (WEEN) will honor award-winning actor, Vivica A. Fox; actor/author Hill Harper; actor/philanthropist Malinda Williams; McDonald’s Chief Global Diversity Officer, Pat Harris; Universal Motown EVP of Urban Marketing, Shanti Das; and HIV/AIDS activist, Maria Davis at the First Annual WEEN Awards.

Hosts include entertainment icon MC Lyte and national television personality/actor Terrence J. Presenters include media personalities Angie Martinez, Rocsi, Jeff Johnson, Alesha Renee, Big Tigger and WEEN Chair Valeisha Butterfield. Sponsors include McDonald’s Corporation, Anheuser-Busch and BET Networks. Scholarships will be granted to two deserving college students in the DC area by WEEN and PressReset.me, founded by Shanti Das. Music provided by DJ Aasha Adore.

WHAT:

The First Annual WEEN Awards (www.weenonline.org) will honor individuals with a proven commitment to the empowerment of women worldwide. The Awards will serve as an annual fundraiser to support the on-going non-profit, educational programs for women, of all ages and races, of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN).
