Cincinnati’s Ill Poetic raps letter to TI about Club Ritz incident in 2006 (video, audio)
If you haven’t been watching TI’s Road to Redemption on MTV, it’s probably at least worth watching the first part of the first episode in the clip below.
One of TI’s defining moments was the loss of his lifetime friend Philant “Phil” Anthony Jackson was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, after leaving Club Ritz, along I-75 in Cincinnati back in 2006. That moment has left an indelible mark on Cincinnati.
Ill Poetic is a producer and rapper out of Cinncinati, Ohio and he recently mailed me a song that evolved into a letter to TI. I don’t know if it will reach TI, but I want to share it because it’s from the perspective of a Cincy local.

Before I close out this post, I have to say I love TI’s 4 step process for making a change. It cracks me up every time. Look at TI droppin’ knowledge! Don’t get me wrong, TI is right on with his wisdom. The life of a hustler or gangsta will ultimately land you in jail or six feet under.
Ok, ok, I think I remember the 4 step process. I wish you could hear me doing my TI impersonation while you read it.
